چکیده
Abstract Shift current photovoltaic devices are potential candidates for future cheap, sustainable, and efficient electricity generation. In the present work, we calculate solar-generated shift efficiencies in 326 different 2D materials obtained from computational database C2DB. We apply, as metrics, of monolayer multilayer samples. The generally found to be low, while infinite stacks show great promise. Furthermore, out-of-plane response is considered, material identified. Among screened materials, MXY Janus MX 2 transition metal dichalchogenides (TMDs) constitute a prominent subset, with chromium based TMDs holding particular Finally, order explain band gap dependence PV efficiency, simple gapped graphene model variable established related calculated efficiencies.

Nanomanufacturing of Emerging 2D Materials for Thin-Film Photovoltaic Applications
2D layered transition metal dichalcogenides (LTMDs) attracted a great deal of interests because of their attractive electronic, optoelectronic and mechanical properties, versatile chemistry, and large natural abundance. Especially, a single semiconducting LTMD (e.g., WSe 2 , WS 2 , and MoS 2) layer (~0.5 nm thick) can absorb as much sunlight as 50 nm of Si (or 12 nm of GaAs) and generate curren...

We calculate the bulk photovoltaic response of the ferroelectrics BaTiO(3) and PbTiO(3) from first principles by applying the "shift current" theory to the electronic structure from density functional theory. The first principles results for BaTiO(3) reproduce experimental photocurrent direction and magnitude as a function of light frequency, as well as the dependence of current on light polari...

Diverse parallel stitched 2D heterostructures, including metal-semiconductor, semiconductor-semiconductor, and insulator-semiconductor, are synthesized directly through selective "sowing" of aromatic molecules as the seeds in the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method. The methodology enables the large-scale fabrication of lateral heterostructures, which offers tremendous potential for its appl...
متن کاملEfficiency Maximization of Solar Photovoltaic Systems
Photovoltaic (PV) power generation has an important role to play due to the fact that it is a green source. The only emissions associated with PV power generation are those from the production of its components. Increasing the efficiency in PV plants so the power generated increases is a key aspect, as it will increase the incomes, reducing consequently the cost of the power generated so it wil...
